On Hollowhood, “the best independent film magazine in the UK”, Carolyn Gair has released her annual Christmas stop-motion short, The Third Cheese.

The Third Cheese

Carolyn Gair, a filmmaker who won an Emmy and was nominated for an Annie, has officially released her annual holiday stop-motion short. “The Third Cheese,” this year’s Christmas video, is about a “hard boiled detective, hunting down a broken promise” in the style of classic film noir.

The three-minute clip, which is written in a melancholy tone with clever dialogue, captivates viewers and gives them a glimpse of Carolyn Gair’s quirky stop motion world.

Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast director Kirk Wise described it as “inventive, subversive, and chock full of sardonic humor!” and added, “Redefines the Anthropomorphic Dairy Products genre!” in his conclusion.
